The Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Požega was opened in October 2009, and it was founded at the initiative of the Požega-Slavonia County, the Požega City Council, and the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
The Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Požega operates in conformity with the Statute and the Operation Programme of the Croatian Academy; it furthermore promotes the scientific and artistic activity of the city of Požega and its wider area.
The scope of the activities of the Institute includes scientific and other expert research in the areas of the humanities as well as of social and bio-technical sciences (particularly in the fields of history, archaeology, viticulture, wine production, ecological food production and tourism; the Institute co-operates with outside collaborators (scientists and other experts).
The Institute’s tasks are as follows: initiating and organising scientific meetings and symposia important for scientific development and the practical application of scientific results; organising exhibitions in the fields of sciences and arts covered by the Institute; publishing the results of scientific work and research.
Acording to the decision of the CASA Presidency Milko Jakšić, F.C.A. was appointed as head of the Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work of the CASA in Požega for a term of four years starting from January 29, 2021.
By decision of the CASA Presidency, Mr Ferdinand Troha, B.Sc. Ing. was appointed as a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work of the CASA in Požega as a representative of the City of Požega, and Mr. Vedran Neferović, deputy prefect, was appointed as a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work of the CASA in Požega as a representative of the Pozega-Slavonia County, starting on November 27, 2019.
