Curriculum Vitae

Krešimir Seletković (Slavonski Brod, 1974), graduated in composition from Zagreb Academy of Music in the class of prof. Davorin Kempf. During his studies he was awarded the University of Zagreb Rector’s Award (1999). He further refined his skills through various summer courses in Austria, Poland, Germany, Hungary and Croatia.

Since 2002 he has been teaching at the Zagreb Academy of Music where he has served two terms as Vice dean for Student Affairs (2013 – 2019). As a full professor he is currently teaching at the Department for Composition and Music Theory.

In the period between 2003 and 2012 he was both the editor of the Ars Croatica edition of the Croatian Composers’ Society as well as an artistic advisor, and from 2012 to 2018 the artistic director of the Music Biennale Zagreb. In the 2021/2022 season he was composer-in-residence of the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra and Choir.

For his work he has been awarded the Boris Papandopulo Award of the Croatian Composers’ Society (2000), the Stjepan Šulek Fund Award (2004), the Josip Štolcer Slavenski Award (2009, 2022), the award for the best music for a children’s play for I drvo je bilo sretno at the 19th SLUK (Meeting of Puppeteers and Croatian Puppet Theatres in Osijek) in 2003 and the 4th Naj, naj, naj Žar ptica Theater Festival and many other awards. His ballet Air, premiered at the Music Biennale Zagreb in 2011 won the Croatian Theatre Award.

He is a prominent producer of recordings of Croatian music, for which he has been awarded multiple Porin Awards. He has written more than seventy compositions in various musical genres that have been performed worldwide.

In 2019, he was awarded the Republic of Croatia Order of Danica Hrvatska with the image of Marko Marulić.
