Curriculum Vitae
Prof. Emer. György Bárdossy, PhD, was born on 17 November 1925 in Szombathely, Hungary, and died on 15 April 2013 in Budapest. He was a geologist, the world’s leading scientist and expert of karst and laterite bauxite raw materials for the alumina, aluminum and its compounds industry. He was elected a corresponding member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts on 30 January 1997 as professor emeritus of the Loränd Eötvös University in Budapest and a corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
He has collaborated with the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts since 1963. He was one of the founders and vice-president of the committee of The International Committee for Study of Bauxite, Alumina & Aluminium (ICSOBA), whose constitutive session was held in Zagreb, at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 1965.
