Curriculum Vitae
Anđelko Akrap was born in 1954 in Bisk (Trilj). He is employed at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb as a full professor in permanent employment at the Department of Demography of the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb. He has published 99 scientific and professional papers and 8 books. He has participated in more than 40 domestic and international scientific conferences. He gave numerous public lectures with demographic themes in the stands in Croatia and abroad. He was a leader and researcher on several scientific research projects on population development in Croatia and on factors of low fertility and fertility motivation and changes in family structures in the 20th century. In the 19th century in Croatia, the results of which were published in scientific journals and books. Published papers can be classified into three areas: research in the field of economic demographics; research of low fertility factors, fertility motivation and changes in family structures in Croatia; research in the field of differential methodology of vital statistics in Croatia. In his works he considers demographic phenomena from a broader, historical- economic, historical-political and socio-traditional point of view. With the decision of the Croatian Parliament, he received the Annual National Science Award for 2006. In 2006 and 2011 for the scientific research in the field of demography he received Mijo Mirković Award. He was elected as a Fellow of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2020 and has been an associate member since 2018.
