Curriculum Vitae
Robert Huber, a German biochemist, was born in Munich on February 20, 1937. He was an associate (1971 – 2001) and director emeritus (from 2005 to 2009) of the Biochemical Institute “Max Planck” in Planegg-Martinsried and professor of the Technical University of Munich.
He is a prominent expert in determining the structure of large biological molecules by diffraction of X-rays. In 1988, with J. Deisenhofer and H. Michel, he shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for determining the structure of a protein complex essential for photosynthesis in bacteria.
Since 1992 he has been a correspondent member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
