With their individuality, knowledge and views of life these people guided my life.

My father and my mother helped me develop an intellectual, compassionate and active interest for Croatia's welfare. They encouraged and cherished my commitment to animals and nature.

Miroslav RADMAN supported my immense youthful curiosity about experiencing life outside the former Yugoslavia. With his help I learned about the risky charm of a research, and the courage required to take such a risk. Merçi!

Đuro Huber watches my endurance at work, helps me understand the illogicalities of scientific community in which we advocate the right to researcher's responsibility and work independenc, as well as fair evaluation of scientific research.

Istvan PELLE drew my attention to a white stork, a bird that has been a leding feature of nature protection activities in my ornithological work and nature protection activities ever since.

Mislav MUŽINIĆ with his interest and understanding follows and supports all of my ideas; I can always rely on him; he eliminates my problems with ease. I was lucky!

Woflgang ERZ strenghtened my standpoints and beliefs and expanded knowledge about principles and methods of nature protection; he encouraged my reactions and active airing of my views on human rights in everyday life; and how to stand up against impoliteness, double standards, bureaucracy, unbusiness-like manners, vengefulness, intrusions and restraints.

Luka MUŽINIĆ
corrects my age-related clumsiness with his youth and pace of life; he removes despondency with his exuberance and saves me the trouble of dealing with computer glitches.

Stella FATOVIĆ - FERENČIĆ provides a solid ground for my conviciton that a day is wasted without a friends conversating; balances my dilemmas on an everyday basis, stimulates creative scientific thinking and keeps me in mind, knowing our existing working conditions.

Mihajlo FILIPOVIĆ made the invisible world visible; brought to life my poetry attempts; his permanent presence is reassuring, he makse life bearable with his humor, and the other way around.
