Iva Kurelac was born in Zagreb (Croatia) in 1975. Graduated from the classics-program secondary school in 1994. Graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia, in January 2002. Majors: Ancient Greek, Latin and Modern Greek.
In September 2002 employed as an assistant at the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Department for Historical Sciences, Institute for Social and Historical Sciences, Zagreb, Croatia.
In October 2006 defended her M.A. thesis "Dinko Zavorović and His Work on the Ancient History in the 1st Book of De rebus Dalmaticis", Department for History, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Mentor: Olga Perić, Ph.D; co-mentor: Bruna Kuntić-Makvić, Ph.D.).
In June 2010 defended her doctoral thesis "The Beginnings of Critical Historiography in the Work De Rebus Dalmaticis by Dinko Zavorović", Department for History, Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb. (Mentor: Tamara Tvrtković, Ph.D; co-mentor: Mijo Korade, Ph.D).
From September 2002 to December 2006, worked as an assistant on the project "Medieval Sources for Croatian History" and participated in the realization of the third volume of the "Codex diplomaticus, supplementa" edition.
Since January 2007 has worked as an assistant on the project “Latinic Sources, Studies and Manuals for Social and Economic History”.
In 2011. became the research associate.
She is the author of numerous studies, reviews, translations and transcriptions from Latin and Greek. She also participated in the realization of the editions "Croatian Encyclopaedia" and "Lexicon of Croatian Literature: Works".
Participatad and attended the congresses in Zagreb, Split, Skradin, Koper, London, Leeds, Lisbon and Spoleto. In 2000 attended the International summer course for modern Greek at the Institute for Balkan Studies (IMXA), Thessaloniki, Greece.
The field of scientific interest: Humanism, Cultural History, Croatian Latinists and Latinic Sources Publishing.
